In my series Amish Love Blooms, the story begins with a controlling mother, leading to a cascade of conflicts. Families experience disagreements, much like in real life, as many characters act in total disregard of others. However, these conflicts are always thoughtfully resolved, highlighting the enduring bonds and love within the community.
In contrast, regular romances often explore a broader range of themes, including those that delve into darker or more complex issues. Characters in mainstream romances might face intense emotional turmoil, and while many also end happily, the journey can be more tumultuous and less predictable.

For example, in my Amish Bonnet Sisters series, the focus is on a large blended family dynamic as well as the individual romances. I'd call it an Amish Saga rather than a romance series even though there are many romances within the 42 book series.
